ENGLISH CLASS.- WEEK 2



MONDAY
30TH MARCH

Reading – Page 108, 109 and 110 Language Log –
  • Students will have to number the animals provided in the square located in the left top corner of page 108 first, then read and translate page 108 and 109 to be able to complete page 110.
  • Exercise 1 - Answer the timeline provided in page 110 but first you must understand what ”bya” is (billion years ago) and “mya” is (million years ago). Then students should be able to do exercise 2 from same page as well.


Vocabulary and Grammar Log – Pages 69, 70 and 71 – 
  • Solve these three pages if you have questions refer to lesson 6, 7 and 8 from Language Log.



TUESDAY
31ST MARCH

Listening – Page 111 Language Log –
  • Students must listen to audio #54 to be able to answer: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xTsaUYOLCoghDlPSI8qLVdqkwg8AwANJ
  • Exercise 1. Then write the connection among the three topics.
  • Exercise 2 – To be able to answer this exercise students must read the square “Distinguish Facts from Opinions” located in the right lower corner of page 111.
  • Exercise 3 – Answer the questions provided.


Reading – Page 124 and 125 Reading Log – 
  • Read and translate these two pages.


WEDNESDAY
1ST APRIL

Speaking – Page 112 Language Log –
  • Students will need to understand what “Persuading” is, which is explained in the square located in the left top corner of the same page.
  • Then answer the question located to the right middle part of the page, next to the animals’ image.
  • Exercise 1 – solve it by numbering the animals in order.
  • Exercise 2 – students can work with family members, if no one is available they can answer the questions by themselves. 


Reading – Page 126, 127, 128 Reading Log –
  • Answer these three pages using the information from reading “What is Evolution”



THURSDAY
2ND APRIL

Project – Page 113 Language Log –
  • Students will create a Chimera, an explanation is located in the square located in the right top corner of the page.
  • Then work on exercise 1, when done move to exercise 2 – Write as many notes as possible about the characteristics of their Chimera, including all the topics mentioned in this exercise. 3 – Draw a final copy of your Chimera with the characteristics from exercise 2. 


Vocabulary and Grammar Log – Pages 72, 73, 74 and 75 –
  • Solve these pages if you have any questions refer to lesson 9, 10, 11 and 12 from Language Log.



FRIDAY
3RD APRIL

Vocabulary test April 3rd – (this new test list will be attached to the files provided) – perish, bland, abdicate, barren, reassure, hangar, harsh, riot, lurch, taunt. Students will translate those words to Spanish and do a sentence in English using each word provided.
